Abstract
In his lecture, Ken Yeang focused on the experiments, theoretical foundations, design ideas and principles for designing eco-architecture and
eco-master planning. Ecology is adopted here as the fundamental basis for designing a sustainable and resilient future. In his lecture, Ken Yeang discussed the ‘ecosystem concept’ in detail, and how it relates to design. He portrayed the principles and examples of designing nearly zero-energy (carbon neutral) buildings and discussed a theoretical model for ecological design. Last but not least, Ken Yeang illustrated his professional approach by presenting many examples from his recent design and planning work.
