The Fifth View

The Oskar von Miller Forum presented this exhibition in cooperation with the M:AI Museum für Architektur und Ingenieurkunst NRW. Masterly roof structures from antiquity to the present documented the innovativeness and technical excellence delivered by architects and engineers. The ­design of more than 30 impressive roof projects was shown – from the Pantheon, which was completed in 125 AD, to the floating tent-like structure of Munich’s Olympic roof. Recent projects from around the world gave an outlook on how computer-aided design and the development of new materials continue to enable increasingly spectacular and experimental roof structures.
